About

Welcome to the website of Maastricht’s new Ultimate Frisbee association.

What is ultimate?

Ultimate is a non-contact, self-refereed team sport played with a flying disc (or “frisbee”). Two teams of seven players compete on a playing field about the same length as a football field, but narrower.  At each end of the playing field there is an end zone.  Each team defends one endzone. They score a goal if one of their players catches the disc in the opposite end zone.

Who are we?

Ultimaas is a young ultimate association. Officially founded in 2014, we now have about 30 members and play in the Dutch competition with a women’s, an open and a mixed team. In 2015, we did not only win GNSK, the Dutch student championships, but also sent three of our players to the European and the U23 World Championships with the Dutch national teams. In June 2016, 3 of our members were competing at the World Championship in London.

We offer practices up to two times a week (outdoor all year long + indoor in winter). These are open to players of all levels – with and without experience. Next to that, we organize and host many social events and meet up for throwing or workouts.

We are also on Facebook with lots of photos from past events and competition days.
